These references support custom knitwear development; they are not a retail yarn or fabric catalogue. Final availability and color direction are confirmed against the selected yarn and approved sample.

TYKNIT is a knitwear manufacturer, not a yarn spinning or yarn dyeing mill. Yarn used in our knitwear production is sourced from upstream suppliers according to product and production requirements.

Our role is to manage the specifications, color references, supplier-provided batch information and approved production references of sourced yarn throughout sampling, bulk production and repeat orders. This helps identify what yarn was approved, what batch was used, what color reference was confirmed and what previous production reference should be used for a repeat order.

Yarn specification identification

For each project, relevant sourced-yarn information can be identified and recorded: supplier or source, composition, yarn count, color code or reference, gauge compatibility, stitch or construction needs, approved handfeel and the related swatch or sample. TYKNIT records production information; it does not define upstream spinning parameters.

Approved color reference

Pantone, a supplier color card or a color code can guide development. The practical production comparison is the customer-approved yarn, swatch, sample garment or other confirmed physical color reference. A matching code alone does not guarantee that separate production batches will look exactly the same.

Supplier dye-lot or batch recording

Where dye-lot or batch information is available from the yarn supplier, TYKNIT records it against the relevant style or production order. The identifier comes through the upstream yarn supply chain; TYKNIT does not create the dye lot.

Incoming yarn check

When yarn enters the knitwear production workflow, project-appropriate production-side checks may cover supplier, specification, yarn count, color, available dye-lot or batch information, appearance, handfeel, visible defects and trial knitting when needed. This is not presented as laboratory yarn testing.

Sample-to-bulk reference

After approval, bulk production follows the confirmed yarn specification, color reference, gauge, stitch, density, construction, washing or finishing direction, approved sample and relevant technical notes. Substitution is reviewed rather than treated as a free production choice.

Approved reference retention

Where appropriate for the project, TYKNIT retains approved yarn and color references, supplier and available batch information, swatches or samples, gauge, stitch, construction, finishing and relevant production notes for later comparison.

Repeat-order comparison

For a reorder, replenishment, color repeat or style repeat, the previous approved production information is recalled. If a new yarn batch or dye lot is required, it can be compared with the retained approved reference before or during production.

Controlled repeat production

Repeat production is managed against the previous approved production rather than treated as an unrelated new order. This improves process repeatability and consistency while recognizing that physical materials can vary between batches.

Different dye lots may naturally produce slight shade variation.

TYKNIT does not promise zero color difference between separate dye lots. Variation is managed through batch identification, retained references, comparison and production confirmation within the acceptable range agreed for the project.

Certification support for specified yarns

If a project requires certified yarn or supporting material certification documents, TYKNIT can coordinate with the relevant upstream supplier, review the available documents and provide applicable records for buyer review where available. Scope, validity and document availability are confirmed for the material, supplier, product and destination-market requirements of each project. Certification is issued by the applicable supply-chain party or certification body, not by TYKNIT as a yarn producer.

Questions about yarn color and repeat production

Does TYKNIT manufacture or dye yarn?

No. TYKNIT is a knitwear manufacturer. Yarn is sourced from upstream yarn suppliers according to product and production requirements. TYKNIT manages the sourced-yarn information and approved production references used in knitwear sampling, bulk production and repeat orders.

How does TYKNIT manage yarn color for repeat orders?

TYKNIT uses the previous yarn specification, approved color reference, available supplier-provided batch or dye-lot information and retained production reference. A new batch can then be compared with the previous approved production before or during repeat production.

Can different yarn dye lots have color variation?

Yes. Different dye lots may naturally produce slight shade variation. TYKNIT manages this through batch identification, retained references, comparison and production confirmation within the acceptable range agreed for the project.

Does TYKNIT record dye-lot information?

Previous yarn specifications, approved references, production notes and available batch information can support controlled repeat production and improve consistency. This is process repeatability, not a guarantee that separate physical dye lots will be exactly identical.

Cotton / Cotton Blend

Advantages: Comfortable handfeel, good breathability and a natural appearance for everyday knitwear.

Wool / Wool Blend
